My iPhone Cannot Connect to WiFi: What Should I Do?

Posted By Floyd Tedder

iphone cannot connect to wifiIt is frustrating when your iPhone cannot connect to WiFi when you have a monthly cellular data limit, not an unlimited data plan. A WiFi connection helps you a lot when you just want to update your iOS, download large files, and enjoy music and video streaming.

How to Fix When Your iPhone Cannot Connect to WiFi

There are some easy troubleshooting steps to reconnect your iPhone to a WiFi network, but in some cases, we have to deal with more advanced techniques. Below, we provide you these solutions from easy to hard, to help you reconnect iPhone to WiFi.

  • Turn On WiFi Network

Make sure that the WiFi network is on. To turn on your WiFi, you can use the Control Center. Swipe up from the bottom of the display screen and hit the WiFi to enable it.

Do not leave the Control Center, unless you check the Airplane Mode icon. It is next to the WiFi icon. If you enabled the Airplane Mode after your trip, then it makes your WiFi disabled. Therefore, you have to tap to get back on the network.

  • Force Restart Your iPhone

If you often restart your iPhone, it can solve the problems. Although it does not fix hardware problems or deep configuration, it can deal with your WiFi problems.

To do so, touch the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button. Hold down the buttons at the same time so the screen turns blank and you can see the Apple logo to restart the device.

  • Reset the Network Settings

Head to Network Settings to get all information such as the connection data and preferences for WiFi and cellular network is what you can do. If your WiFi setting is corrupted, it blocks any WiFi network. The best solution is to reset the network settings. However, this step deletes some stored data and preferences of your connectivity.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Choose General.
  3. Swipe to the bottom and hit Reset.
  4. Confirm to continue.

Restore Factory Settings

We assume those solutions did not work. A drastic way to do is to have factory settings. It means you are going to lose everything from the iPhone such as images, files, and others. It is like a brand new phone. Therefore, it is important to make a complete backup before you do it.

Follow the steps below after backup your data:

  1. Go to Settings..
  2. Choose General.
  3. Swipe the bottom, tap Reset.
  4. Choose Erase All Content and Settings.
  5. Confirm if you wish to continue.

Now, you have a fresh iPhone. After that, restore from your backup. However, you may restore the bug that blocked you to use WiFi access as before. If your iPhone still cannot connect to WiFi, please write a comment below, we will try to answer your questions
